White Elephant Auction |
It’s amazing what our members will members will buy to raise money for our Turnaround Scholarship Fund. As our auctioneer and fellow member, Phil Brown, reminds us when bidding for the umpteenth treasure, “Do it for the kids.” The entertainment and laughs we share must make us want to buy things we don’t need and in some cases, want. |

Club members donate time and hard labor to help non-profits with various
work projects. With the participation of 25 of our members, the Weinberg
Foundation provides $10,000 to the charity of our choice (non-profit
organizations interested in receiving the grant should contact the Club
president). We've enjoyed cleaning up a non-profit's bike shop dedicated
for kids in Kalihi, performing ground work for the Camp Erdman,
working the land to create a park facility for Kokua Kalihi Valley, and painting various transitional homes.

Fundraising for the Prevention of Child Abuse |
In support of the Casino Royale fund raiser at the Pacific Club for PACT, the Pau Hana fund raiser for the Hawaii Family Support Institute and the Kapi‘olani Child At Risk Evaluation Program held at the Plaza Club, the Club contributed auction items as well as physical labor. In another year, the Club helped to raise over $90,000 for the same organizations with the Celebrity Auction. |

Field Trips |
Instead of meeting at the Oahu Country Club, members meet for lunch at various points of interest — the Pacific Aviation Museum and the Battleship Missouri Memorial at Ford Island, Pearl Harbor; the Hokulani Imaginarium at Windward Community College; the Hawai‘i Theater; and the Oceanic Institute are some examples. These trips provide us with in-depth tours and perspectives of the operations. And then there are those field trips just for thrills. . .electric go-kart racing in Kalaeloa. . .zoom! |

Recruiting Parties |
Using the various downtown art galleries and the Harbor Court recreation room, parties are held to introduce prospective members to the Club. Wine, food, and conversation are plentiful. |

Road Rallies |
Designed by our resident racer, Ed Kemper, the road rallies test
partners’ patience and knowledge of the Honolulu area to effectively
navigate to the finish line. GPS doesn’t help. |
